A massive thank you to everyone who voted for and organised the Red Book Awards ceremony at the beautiful Botanical Gardens Birmingham. A great time was had by all! I did my parental duty by embarrassing my daughters with a slightly shabby speech that I really wasn't expecting to make. I signed my books opposite Allan Ahlberg and Bruce Ingman who are responsible for not only the winning young reader book (The Pencil) but also some of my absolute favorite children's books of all time.... all a bit overwhelming really.
